New Mexico Doula Credentialing Act
New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has signed the Doula Credentialing Act, which takes effect July 1, 2025, reports Source NM. The act requires the state to establish a credentialing process for doulas. Once credentialed, doulas will become eligible for Medicaid reimbursement. The act is intended to support maternal health by expanding access to non-clinical labor and birth support services
