Analysis: Connecticut is a National Leader in Controlling Drug Costs

Connecticut is setting the standard nationwide for drug price control measures, reports CT News Junkie. Much of the credit for this year’s progress goes to a suite of new prescription drug pricing and to the legislative leaders who convened the world’s-largest task force to study the problem and design options. Between them, Connecticut passed a first-in-the-nation cap on generic drug prices along with important controls on Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) middlemen who jack up prices to maximize their own profits.
