Michigan Erases Over $144 Million in Medical Debt

In a press release from the Executive Office of the Governor it was announced that Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has partnered with nonprofit, Undue Medical Debt, to erase over $144 million in medical debt for Michiganders. Over 200,000 individuals will be impacted, and more rounds of debt forgiveness are slated to take place in the future.
