Arizona Invests in Tribal Health Care Through Traditional Healing, Dialysis Center
The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) will expand access to culturally responsive and necessary care services provided through Indian Health Services and tribally operated facilities, reports the AZ Mirror. The new state budget includes $100,000 in state funds that will secure more than $222 million in federal matching dollars. It also allocates $3 million to establish a dialysis center on the Navajo Nation. State officials say investment strengthens access to care and respects tribal traditions while improving affordability.
