Colorado Codifies Coverage for Gender Affirming Care

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis signed a law that guarantees insurance coverage for gender-affirming care, reports Colorado Newsline. House Bill 25-1309 bans insurance plans from denying or restricting care that a doctor deems medically necessary for transgender individuals. Covered services include hormone therapy, facial surgery, breast augmentation, and hair removal. The law is designed to ensure equitable healthcare access for people whose gender identity differs from their sex assigned at birth.
