Delaware Governor Matt Meyer recently partnered with nonprofit Undue Medical Debt to erase $50 million in medical debt for residents, reported WHYY Public Media. Residents with an income at or below 400% of the federal poverty level or who have medical debt that is at least 5% of their annual household income qualify for relief. The state will leverage $500,000 in state funds to purchase and forgive the medical debt.
