Maine’s long-term care costs are now among the highest in the U.S., reports CBS13 WGME. Home health aides average $43 an hour, the third highest in the nation, exceeding the national average ($34). Meanwhile, assisted living costs in Maine now approach $96,000 annually, well above the state’s median household income. These rising costs are placing long-term care out of reach for many Maine residents.
