Wyoming Health Insurance Navigator Program Sees 90% Budget Cut
Enroll Wyoming, the state’s health insurance navigator program, has lost 90% of its federal funding, reports Jackson Hole News and Guide. Enroll Wyoming receives funds from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which announced that it would shrink the grant that funded Enroll Wyoming and similar organizations to $10 million a year in February. Earlier this year, the federal government also decided to slash funding for a grant that funded a Teton County Health Department program called “Connect with Community Health Outreach Workers.” The program helped primarily Spanish-speaking people in Jackson Hole and beyond to gain access to Medicaid and other health care programs. The cuts come at a time when prices for marketplace health insurance are set to change across the United States.
