Utah Medicaid to Cover Doula Services

Utah has passed legislation requiring the state to pursue Medicaid coverage for doula service, reports Deseret News. Under SB 284, the state must apply to expand its Medicaid plan to cover doula services by October 1, 2025. Covered doula services would include non-medical advice, training and registration requirements for doulas, physical and emotional supports, and payments during an individual’s pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum time.
